About the Event
While the cross was the means of Christ’s death, it has come to mean so much more over time. No longer just a torture device, the cross now stands for salvation, redemption, God’s love. In the “Toward the Cross” retreat series, we’ll look at Jesus’ movement throughout His life, toward His death, and beyond, focusing on what that means for us today. This retreat series will use scriptures from the Old and New Testament, spiritual exercises, and questions to help us hear from God and sense His presence in our lives.
What to expect
Each Wednesday from February 18th through April 1st and then on Easter Sunday you will receive an email that will include a written meditation, one or two questions for your reflection, and a spiritual exercise to help you incorporate what you’ve learned into your heart and mind.
Use the mini-retreats in whatever way and timing works for you. For instance, you might
· take twenty minutes (or as long as you’d like) to go through an entire mini-retreat in one sitting
· take a few minutes in the morning to read the meditation, then ponder the questions throughout the day, and finally do the spiritual exercise at the end of the day (or spread it out over the week)
· spend a morning doing two mini-retreats together (or do all seven during the week between Palm Sunday and Easter)
· or any combination of the above
Let this Lenten series bring you closer to God as we anticipate the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.
